Mera Peak at 6476m/21,246ft is a challenging and rewarding expedition to the top of the highest trekking peak in this area. It is technically straightforward, so can be undertaken by fit hill walkers with limited ice axe and crampon experience.
The walk in takes you through the virgin forests of the Hinku Valley, which is incredibly beautiful and sparsely populated. This area has a real sense of remoteness as it is far from the trails leading to Everest Base Camp.
The latter part of the walk in and the summit reward you with one of the most unforgettable views in this area. The sensational panorama of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Nupste, Makalu, Ama Dablam and Cho Oyu make all that tough work worthwhile.

… the itinerary trekking times and distances are approximate.
Cloud and turbulent weather are regular phenomena along the Himalaya range. It is therefore possible that domestic flights from Kathmandu to or from Lukla may have to be delayed for a few hours or even cancelled for a day or more.
Fortunately this does not happen very often during the high seasons of March to May or September to November, but you need to plan for this possibility.
As a safeguard, we recommend that you add on a couple of extra days after your trek, before you fly from Kathmandu to your onward destination.
