Accommodation

You will love the experience of staying in local teahouses during your trek

Teahouses have become the usual accommodation found in this area for tourists. They provide basic lodgings with communal dining rooms and sitting areas.

Most teahouses have twin bedrooms with shared toilet facilities although in the larger villages it is possible to book ensuite rooms.

You are guaranteed a very warm welcome from your hosts who will provide meals and drinks at any time of the day.

No doubt you will enjoy the pleasure of a yak dung stove (they really do not smell, honest)!

What will be provided

The trek pages list a general guide to what is provided and what is not provided. Note that this can vary slightly from trek to trek. Here is a reminder.

What is included

2 nights accommodation and breakfast in deluxe double room in Kathmandu (price based on 2 sharing)
All teahouse accommodation in Solu Khumbu (price based on 2 sharing) with breakfast from a varied but set menu
Return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla
All airport transfers in Kathmandu
TIMS card (Trekker Information and Management System): Nepal’s trekking card
National Park entry fee
(2 passport sized photos required)
Sherpa guides and porters, properly insured and equipped
A comprehensive medical kit, carried by group

What is NOT included

Please also ensure you can arrange or provide the following –

International air transport
Personal travel insurance, which is essential for entrance into the Solu Khumbu
Nepal visa
Extra costs due to flight delays either from or to Lukla
Tips and gratuities
Personal equipment
Other expenses of a personal nature
Recharging batteries, phones etc
Cost of showers in Solu Khumbu
Personal toiletries and toilet roll (you must provide your own)
Optional trips in Kathmandu
WiFi connection
Lunches/dinners/tea/coffees/juice etc – please allow about $25 per day for these meals/drinks
