Laboche East lies close to the Khumbu glacier in Mount Everest National Park. This trip combines trekking to Everest Base Camp, ascending Kala Pattar, with it’s unbelievable view of Everest, and climbing one of the classic trekking peaks in Nepal.
Laboche has 2 distinct summits. The east top at 6119m is our destination and is considered a trekking peak, whereas it’s neighbour, the west top at 6145m is very technical and is considered an expedition peak.
The final summit ridge includes approximately 500m of fixed ropes and so requires the use of crampons and ice axe.
The view from Laboche will stay with you for the rest of your life. At the summit the panorama includes Everest, Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse & Ama Dablam.

Cloud and turbulent weather are regular phenomena along the Himalaya range. It is therefore possible that domestic flights from Kathmandu to or from Lukla may have to be delayed for a few hours or even cancelled for a day or more.
Fortunately this does not happen very often during the high seasons of March to May or September to November, but you need to plan for this possibility.
As a safeguard, we recommend that you add on a couple of extra days after your trek, before you fly from Kathmandu to your onward destination.
